Daniel Egan is an orchestral musician, teacher, and clinician currently residing in Houston, Texas.  Professionally, he has performed with numerous orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, National Symphony, Houston Symphony, San Antonio Symphony, Alabama Symphony amongst many others. In the opera pit he is a regular substitute with the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra. In the summer of 2021 Mr. Egan will return to the Verbier Festival for a third summer. Previous engagements have featured performances with such luminaries as Sir Simon Rattle, Valery Gergiev, Manfred Honeck, and Fabio Luisi. He received his graduate degree in trumpet performance at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, studying with Professors Barbara Butler and Charles Geyer. He received his undergraduate degree at Indiana University as a student of John Rommel. He is a founding member of Loop38, a Houston-based new music collective programming exciting concerts with the works of living composers. A passionate teacher, Mr. Egan has coached the Houston Youth Symphony since 2017 and performs clinics and masterclasses all over Houston.
