Austin Pancner is an Indiana-based bass trombonist dedicated to solo, chamber, and orchestral performance. Austin serves as the principal bass trombone of the Terra Haute Symphony Orchestra, has appeared regularly with regional orchestras in Indiana, and has performed as a soloist with regional bands across Indiana and Wisconsin. In 2018, he was an American Trombone Workshop Division III finalist.

As a teacher, Austin runs an active middle school and high school low brass studio. His students have seen success at ISSMA state solo and ensemble and several have gone on to be accepted into prestigious undergraduate music programs.

Currently, Austin is pursuing a Doctor of Music in bass trombone at Indiana University. Before switching to bass trombone, he received a Performers Diploma and a Master of Music degree from Indiana University as well as a Bachelor of Music at Carthage College. Notable teachers include Denson Paul Pollard, Carl Lenthe, Pete Ellefson, Dee Stewart, and Paul Von Hoff.

Outside of music, Austin enjoys pursuing topics in musician health and wellness. He holds certifications in personal training and corrective exercise from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a nutrition coach certification from Precision Nutrition, and is currently working on a Functional Movement System certification. With these certifications, Austin offers resources to help musicians build the tools needed to build an indestructible posture and prolong their performing careers.
